Tuition and Fees

What does it cost to attend TFS?

At TFS, tuition payments cover the operational costs of educating a student. For information regarding tuition fees, please review our full schedule of fees and costs.

Additional Fees & Programs

List of 5 items.

  • Initial Registration Fee

New students are charged a one-time only registration fee. This fee applies to all new students entering from Jardin d’éveil Hafez through Grade 12 (Level V).

The non-refundable fee is $9,500 for the Toronto campus and $4,000 for the West Campus.

Upon enrolment, new students in all grades will be charged a one-time, non-refundable initial registration fee, in addition to the tuition fees described in the Schedule of Fees and Costs.

A family discount in the amount of $500 for each full-time student is available to families with three or more children in the school.
  • Introductory French Program

Our Introductory French Program is available to students in their first year at TFS, up to and including Grade 7 (subject to availability), who have minimal or no prior knowledge of French. In Junior Kindergarten and higher, a fee of $4,000 is applied in addition to tuition.
  • Optional Fees

In addition to tuition fees, families may opt to participate in our hot lunch program (cafeteria for Senior School students) or before and after school care. All students wear uniforms, which are purchased through the TFS Shop on the Toronto campus; in addition, parents pay for textbooks and additional fees.
  • Tuition Refund Insurance

The school encourages parents to take advantage of the optional Tuition Refund Plan. This program offers parents an opportunity to insure fees in the event of student withdrawal or dismissal, provided the student has attended more than 14 consecutive calendar days commencing with the student's first class day of attendance in the academic year, according to the policy’s terms and definitions. The insurance premium is approximately 3% of the annual tuition fees, including HST. This one-time fee is due and payable in full at the time of registration.
  • Receipts for Income Tax Purposes

The Business Office issues receipts by the end of February that can be used for income tax purposes. The amount and availability of these receipts vary by age, grade and tax year. Receipts which are issued include:
    • Before and After School Care (age 16 and under) – Applies to all TFS students to age 16, for that period of time that is supervised and non-academic
    • Education Tax Receipt (T2202A) (Level IV and V) – Due to the postsecondary nature of the International Baccalaureate Diploma program, a portion of tuition fees paid towards Grades 11 and 12 (Levels IV and V) is considered deductible for income tax purposes
    • Philanthropic gifts – A charitable tax receipt will be issued for all gifts of $20 or more

Annual Giving

As an independent school, the margin of excellence TFS provides is thanks to the generous financial support of our parent community and alumni. In fact, TFS would not exist without philanthropy; it is part of the fabric of our school. Annual giving helps provide for an enriched educational experience, supporting everything from technology, program and facility enhancements to scholarships. Quite simply, every TFS student (including yours!), is touched by resources made possible through the support of our community. The average annual gift is $2,000 per child.
